Refugee Work

The Hearth

Through Narthex Sparkhill and with the help of volunteers we run The Hearth which is a 'gathering' for refugees and asylum seekers every Friday afternoon from 1.00 - 5.00pm.

There is a warm welcome for all regardless of country of origin or faith. Lots of conversation so its a great place to practice English. Refreshments, table games, crafts, pool, table tennis, darts and much more - children are welcome. Visiting Parish Nurse and Pregnancy Outreach Worker.

Resource Store

Supplying baby equipment, sanitary/toiletry supplies, small household and kitchen items to refugees and asylum seekers who are referred by agencies or churches.

Urgent

More and more refugees and asylum seekers are being referred to us - many of whom are destitute and don't even have food for themselves or their children.

We immediately need food (non perishable) breast pads, maternity & sanitary pads, cotton wool, overnight bags and disposable nappies.

Can you help us by donating any of these?

Items can be dropped off at the Narthex office which is open 9.15am - 4.30pm Monday - Friday.

The office is at the rear of the church on St John's Road.

Phone before delivering to check on suitability of your donation 0121 7720909 and ask for Nigel or Frances
